Julia and I had a wonderful time supporting Zonta Women of Achievement as they celebrated the Lifetime Achievement Award, Celebration Award, and Women of Achievement. It’s always special to honor those who make a meaningful impact in our community and touch the lives of others. 💛✨

Good morning, CGPS staff and families. The City of Cape Girardeau has issued a precautionary boil water advisory for a large portion of the city until 9:15 a.m. on Friday, November 21st unless otherwise notified. All of our school buildings are within that precautionary boil water advisory area EXCEPT for Alma Schrader and Blanchard. Those two school buildings are currently not in the advisory zone.

We wanted to let families know that we have closed the drinking fountains throughout the District, and are in the process of delivering bottled water for drinking water.

Our nutrition services staff members will follow the recommended precautions provided for food preparation until the advisory is lifted.

More information can be found on the City’s website.

Thank you for your time and have a great day!

The Cape Public Schools Foundation is proud to support the needs of our students and staff. 🧡
Through Care to Learn – Cape Girardeau, we provide backpacks of food for the weekend, additional groceries when needed, and Thanksgiving meal baskets for families each year.

It truly takes a village, and working together makes a bigger impact.
If you’d like to help us continue meeting these needs, please consider making a donation to Care to Learn – Cape Girardeau.
You can text “CGPS” to 41444 and select the Backpack Program, or click the link below to give online:

Dear CGPS Families,

We want to make you aware that this afternoon’s bus routes may run a little later than usual due to several drivers being out unexpectedly. Our transportation team has made adjustments to ensure all students get home safely.

The bus routes below will most likely be running late:
ECC/PreK – All ECC and PreK routes
Alma Schrader Elementary– All routes
Franklin Elementary– Route 8
Jefferson Elementary– Route 11 and Route 16
Terry W. Kitchen Central Junior High– Route 8

We understand that these changes may cause minor delays, and we sincerely apologize for the short notice. Please know that our top priority is to get every student home as quickly and safely as possible.

Thank you for your patience and understanding.

Sincerely,
CGPS
